Learn to Row/Learn To Coxswain

Learn To Row

The Learn to Row (LTR) program was introduced in October 2010 to allow rowers who had never rowed before the experience of rowing in the same shells used in the historic Royal St. John's Regatta. It's first fall program proved to be successful for both first timers and also for those who had rowing experience and wanted to get back on Quidi Vidi Lake for a "spin".

The Learn to Row Program is open to individuals and crews of any age wishing to learn how to row. There is a Spring Program (early May) and a Fall Program (early September). Coxswains and training are provided. There is no fee!

This year the Royal St. John’s Regatta Committee in partnership with Chevron Canada Limited will run the Spring Learn to Row Program starting in May.

Learn To Coxswain

Due to the great success of our Learn To Row Program, the Regatta Committee now offers a Learn To Coxswain (LTC) Program. Are you a new crew without a coxswain, grab a friend and get them involved - no experience necessary.

If you are interested please inform the Technical Director or one of the staff at the Boathouse.
The Program includes:
1. Coxswain Course
2. Rowing/Coaching Clinic
3. On water training with our Technical Director and Boathouse Staff

For more information contact our Technical Director during the rowing season (May - Aug) at boathouse@stjohnsregatta.com or 576-8058. In the offseason contact us at general@stjohnsregatta.com.
